SU Announces 22 New Faculty

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University welcomes 22 new full-time faculty members this semester.

Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts new faculty include Renee Garcia, Dr. Gregory Gilberson, Dr. David Johnson, Dr. Ross Leasure, Dr. Nick Melczarek and Tonya Price of the English Department; Dr.Louise Detwiler of the Modern Languages Department; and Drs. Lance Garmon and Ellyn Sheffield of the Psychology Department. The Fulton School also welcomes back Eric Schneider of the Art Department, who began teaching at SU during the spring semester.

Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology new faculty include Dr. Alexander Bykat, Dr. Divya Devadoss, Carvel LaCurts and Dr. Enyue Lu of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department. The Henson School also welcomes back Dr. Robert Johnson of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, who began teaching at SU during the spring semester.

Franklin P. Perdue School of Business new faculty include Drs. Dustin Chambers and Sean Reid of the Economics and Finance Department.

Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies new faculty include Linda Conner and Dr. Laura Marasco of the Education Department and Drs. Michelle D’Abundo, Kelly Fiala and Donna Ritenour of the Health, Physical Education and Human Performance Department.

Garcia earned her M.A. from Salisbury University. Her most recent higher education experience was at Laney College in Oakland, CA.

Gilberson earned his Ph.D. from the University of Sough Florida, where he completed his most recent higher education experience.

David Johnson earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida. SU is his first employer in higher education.

Leasure earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University, where he completed his most recent higher education experience.

Melczarek earned his Ph.D. in English from the University of Florida. He comes to SU from Santa Fe Community College in Gainsville, FL.

Price earned her M.A. from SU. She comes to SU from Wor-Wic Community College.

Detwiler earned her Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington. She comes to SU from Butler University in Indianapolis.

Garmon earned his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. He comes to SU from The Ohio State University at Newark.

Sheffield earned her Ph.D. from Rutgers University, where she completed her most recent academic experience. She taught concurrently at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.

Schneider earned his MFA from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. He comes to SU from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Bykat earned his Ph.D. from the University of London. He comes to SU from South University.

Devadoss earned her Ph.D. from Northwestern University. SU is her first employer in higher education.

LaCurts earned his M.Ed. from SU. He is a mathematics instructor in the Worcester County Public School System.

Lu earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas. SU is her first employer in higher education.

Robert Johnson earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University at Bloomington. He comes to SU from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Chambers earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside, where he also taught. He taught concurrently at California State University, San Bernardino.

Reid earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island. He comes to SU from New Haven University in New Haven, CT.

Conner earned her M.S. at Wilmington College. She comes to SU from West Seaford Elementary School in Seaford, DE.

Marasco earned her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. She taught concurrently at the University of Colorado and Colorado Mountain College.

D’Abundo earned her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, Athens, where she was a research assistant. S`he concurrently taught at Piedmont College in Athens, GA.

Fiala earned her Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, where she also taught.

Ritenour earned her D.Ed. from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, where she also taught.
