SBDC Hosts Women's Business Roundtable Friday, April 21

SALISBURY, MD---Women-owned businesses currently represent the fastest growing segment of small business development.

Maryland Business and Professional Women (BPW/MD) and the Small Business Development Center–Eastern Region/Salisbury University (SBDC) reach out to women already established in their own business and to women who are just starting in a women’s business roundtable 9-11:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the Ramada Inn in Salisbury.

The theme of the roundtable is “Building a Buzz Around Your Business.” Two area women present workshops at the networking event. The first workshop, “Creating a Buzz: Harnessing Word of Mouth Marketing,” is presented by Diane Hahn, a business counselor at the Small Business Development Center. Hahn has over 15 years of marketing experience, including directing marketing and retail operations for The Foreside Company, an importer and national distributor of home decorative products that was named as one of America’s fastest-growing privately-held businesses by Inc. Magazine in 1998.

The second workshop, “Relationship Marketing: How to Keep Them Coming Back to Your Hive” is presented by Ann Wiseman, a registered nurse, certified legal nurse consultant (CLNC) and the founder of B. Ann Wiseman and Associates. Wiseman is a leader in her profession and won a top award from the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants during her first year as a CLNC. Wiseman is a great example of a woman who has built her business by building relationships.

Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m. with networking opportunities and a continental breakfast.  Registration is $15, and must be made by April 18 by calling Jennifer Layton at 410-543-6516 or by e-mailing  jwlayton@salisbury.edu or mailing payment and contact information to: SBDC-Eastern Region, attn: Jennifer Layton, Salisbury University PP171, 1101 Camden Ave., Salisbury, MD 21801.
