Philosophy Symposium Location Changed

SALISBURY, MD---Two of the nation's leading thinkers in feminist philosophy will speak at Salisbury State University's Philosophy Spring Symposium on Saturday, April 8, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. They are Sandra Bartky of the University of Illinois at Chicago and Tom Digby of Springfield College in Massachusetts.

"Both could be described as ground breaking thinkers," said Dr. Grace Clement, organizer and a member of the SSU Philosophy Dept. "Digby brings men into the discussion and approaches feminist theory in an interdisciplinary way. Bartky with her 1990 book Femininity and Domination shows how thinkers who are not usually thought of as feminist can illuminate feminist theory."

The symposium explores "The Future of Love and Marriage." The program runs from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and includes faculty, alumni and audience participation. THE LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE GREAT HALL FROM DEVILBISS SCIENCE HALL.
