Nursing Scholarships Awarded for 2000-2001

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury State University Department of Nursing in the Henson School of Science and Technology is pleased to announce the winners of the various nursing scholarships and awards for the 2000-2001 academic year.

Winners are: Catherine Seamon of New Market, the Avery W. Hall Scholarship, $700 for one year; Stephanie Howard of Crisfield, the Viginia Mills Edwards Scholarship, $1,000 for one year; Robin Lewis of Glen Burnie, the Garland D. & Vivian J. Bull Scholarship, $200 for one year; Alison Kniss of Westminster, the Seidel Nursing Scholarship, $750 for up to two years; Noelle Reed of Forest Hill, the Fondes Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, a $250 award; Marcia Neild of Cambridge and Irene MacIntosh of Pittsville, the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Junior Board Scholarship, $1,500 for one year; Chris Frisone of Shoreham, NY, the undergraduate award, and Lori Pusey of Pocomoke, the graduate award, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, a $250 award; and Stephen Mears of Onley, VA, the Margaret Johnson Elmore Scholarship, $3,000 for up to four years.

In addition to the above scholarships, two other non- scholarship awards will be announced at the spring Honors Convocation. They are Carrie Perry of Salisbury, the Diane Marie Clayton Award; and Lori Morsberger of Finksburg, the Undergraduate Nursing Achievement Award.

One additional scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman admitted to the University as a nursing major. Megan Bailey of Stafford, VA, will receive the Joseph W. T. & Hannah C. Smith Memorial Scholarship for $2,500.
