Multiethnic Student Services presents "The Role of Women in Exile and Repatriation

SALISBURY, MD --The Salisbury University Office of Multiethnic Student Services presents "The Role of Women in Exile and Repatriation", a lecture by Dr. Fariyal Ross-Sheriff, at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, in Caruthers Hall Auditorium.

Ross-Sheriff is the director of the doctoral program in social work at Howard University. She has taught at Howard University's School of Social Work for 27 years. Her focus in training and research is with displaced populations, including international refugees and immigrants, as well as the homeless and disaster victims in the United States.

Within displaced populations, her work emphasizes women, children and the elderly. She has worked for the past 15 years in the planning and repatriation of Afghan refugees under international non-governmental organizations such as Focus Humanitarian Assistance.
