Islam Scholar Hassanain Rajabali Speaks December 1-3

SALISBURY, MD---Internationally renowned speaker and Islam scholar Hassanain Rajabali speaks during a three-day residency at Salisbury University Wednesday-Friday, December 1-3, as part of Building Bridges: Islam Awareness Week sponsored by SU’s Muslim Student Association. Wednesday’s lecture, titled “Islam Denounces Terrorism!,” is 7-9 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium. On Thursday, December 2, he delivers two talks: “Science in Islam” at 2 p.m. in Henson Science Hall Room 243, and “Judaism, Christianity and Islam: What is the Common Ground?” at 6 p.m. in Holloway Hall’s Great Hall. On Friday, December 3, he leads the Muslim congregational prayer session and speaks on “The Importance of Being God-Conscious” in the Nanticoke Room of the Guerrieri University Center from noon-2 p.m. A reception follows immediately afterward in Fireside Lounge until 4 p.m. Light fare is served. Rajabali is principal of the Tawheed Institute, a center for Muslim learning in New York City. He holds a master’s in molecular biology from the University of Colorado and owns an e-commerce business based in New York. “He is a popular speaker to both Muslim and non-Muslim audiences around the world. Rajabali is known for his use of logic and reason to explain the Muslim faith said,” Nina Nassar, president of the Muslim Student Association. The lectures are free and the public is invited. His visit is sponsored by SU’s Muslim Student Association, the Office of Multiethnic Student Services, the Office of Student Affairs and the Student Government Association.
