Information Technology Exposition is June 10 at SU

SALISBURY, MD--- Salisbury University's Office of Information Technology (IT) hosts an Information Technology Exposition from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, June 10, on the second floor of the Commons. Admission is free and area businesses are invited. Co-sponsors are ALCATEL, TippingPoint, Juniper Networks, Panduit, Plexus Communications Group, DocuTECH and Vision Technologies.
"These companies are leaders in network systems, security, intrusion detection, management and infrastructure," said Tony Stancil, associate director of IT. "They are showing the latest equipment on both wireless and cabling systems, and network equipment, security and software application. Each co-sponsor gives a 30-minute presentation/seminar during the afternoon. Vendor tables provide brochures and CDs, and representatives are on hand to discuss their products. Stancil believes local, county and state agencies, as well as area businesses and manufacturers will find the expo useful. "Our efforts are twofold: to showcase technology used on campus; and rather than local businesses and offices going to Washington or Baltimore to see the latest technology, having the companies come to us."
