Hook-ups, Break-ups Are Focus of Musical Revue

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Department of Music sponsors the dinner theatre musical revue From Hook-Up to Break-Up: A Look at Relationship Development in Broadway Musicals Friday-Sunday, May 9-11, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

A non-dinner performance, which does not require admission, kicks off the show’s run at 8 p.m. Friday, May 9. Members of the university community will be seated first at this performance only.

Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, with a performance at 8 p.m. Dinner begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 11, with a performance at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased in advance.

Directed by Dr. Darrell Mullins, SU Communication and Theatre Arts Department chair, the production focuses on the ups and downs of building and maintaining romantic relationships. The performances showcase well-known, as well as lesser-known, shows, with songs from Guys and Dolls; The Full Monty; Follies; Company; Bye, Bye Birdie; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Miss Saigon; Personals and others.

The production serves as the final project for the Department of Music’s Vocal Chamber Music Ensemble Course.
