Honors Program Hosts Open House September 28

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Bellavance Honors Program hosts an open house 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, September 28, for the campus community to visit the Honors House, chat with new director Dr. Richard England and associate director Dr. Lucy Morrison, and meet students in the program.

England is an expert on the historical relationship between science and religion, particularly of the mid to late 19th century. An associate professor in the Philosophy Department, England teaches in both philosophy and honors, and is eager to expand the Honors Program on campus.

Morrison, faculty in SU’s English Department specializes in British literature from the Romantic period. She currently teaches honors humanities classes about Jane Austen’s England, wherein students learn to dance as in Austen’s day as well as explore a 19th century village and the rituals of a tea party to enhance and supplement their reading of Jane Austen’s works.
