Guerrieri Academic Commons Beam Signing Ceremony March 12

Leave Your Mark Beam

SALISBURY, MD---Members of the campus and greater communities are invited to help write part of Salisbury University history on Thursday, March 12, by signing their names to one of the final beams in the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons (GAC).

The brief ceremony begins at 1 p.m. in Red Square, followed by the public signing of a 30-foot-long, 1,000-pound steel beam. It will be available for signatures until 4 p.m. that day.

Ultimately, it will be placed on the top floor of the 221,000-square-foot building and remain visible from the mechanical room there.

The GAC will provide much-needed space for the library, including a new and expanded home for its popular Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture.  Community members will be welcome to use the library and its Nabb Center, as well as attend events in an Assembly Hall, which will accommodate up to 400.

Parking for the beam signing is off Camden Avenue, near Holloway Hall. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit www.salisbury.edu.
