Folkoff and Scott Receive $12,000 Grant

SALISBURY, MD -- Drs. Michael Folkoff and Michael Scott of the Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology at Salisbury State University recently received a $12,000 grant from the Cecil County Department of Social Services to develop a digitized map of Cecil County.

Members of the Department of Geography and Geosciences at SSU, Folkoff and Scott mapped all official roads serving commercial, industrial and residential properties and their linking roadways to the county within priority areas. The priority areas were identified as the major urban clusters (Elkton, Perryville, North East and Rising Sun) and six urban corridors (stretches of roadways on U.S. 40, U.S. 1, MD 213, MD 279, MD 273 and Interstate 95).

The completed project is burned on a CD-ROM.
