Fischer, Creasy Inaugurate Spring Literary Series

SALISBURY, MD---Readings from novelist Maribeth Fischer and Salisbury University alumnus Deborah Creasy inaugurate SU’s Writers-on-the-Shore 2004 Spring Literary Festival 8 p.m. Thursday, February 19, in the Montgomery Room of the Commons. Fischer’s creative nonfiction has appeared in The Yale Review and The Iowa Review. Her essay Stillborn was reprinted in The Pushcart Prize XX: Best of the Small Presses. She published her first novel, The Language of Goodbye, in 2001. Creasy received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English at SU. Her poems have appeared in Tar River Poetry and Raccoon. She is co-manager of Booksandcoffee, an independent bookstore in Dewey Beach, DE. Sponsored by the English Department, the readings are free and the public is cordially invited. A reception follows.
