Ensemble Presents Jazz at Lunch Friday, November 19

SALISBURY, MD---Diners in the Bistro at Salisbury University’s Commons will hear classical Latin, swing and cool jazz music from noon-1 p.m. Friday, November 19, during the SU Jazz Ensemble’s “Jazz at Lunch” concert. Conducted by Dr. Jerry Tabor, the 11-member ensemble includes SU students and community members. Scheduled selections include Thelonius Monk’s Blue Monk, Straight, No Chaser and 'Round Midnight; J.J. Johnson favorite In Walked Horace; Gordon Dexter’s Cheese Cake; shuffle rock tune Dialogue and the Latin-influenced Get Back In, Ode For Aaron and Karita. Members include Justin Garret on trumpet, Brad Mangiafico on alto saxophone, Bill Courtney on trombone, Lindsey Lines and Camille Samarut on piano, guest pianist Sunny Kim, Garrett Davis and Amy Morgan on Bass, Matthew Buchly and Matthew Wirtz on guitar and Joe McClean on drums. Admission to lunch at the Bistro is $7.25 for adults, $3.75 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under eat free. Sponsored by the Department of Music, the public is invited.
