Eastern Shore Computer Bowl Winners Announced

SALISBURY, MD---Students from nine high schools from across the Shore recently participated in the annual Eastern Shore Computer Bowl, co-sponsored by Conectiv and Salisbury State University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The winners of this year's event were: first place, Parkside High School, team members Steve Winslow, Greg Johnson, Phil Lewis, Matt Beauchamp and coach Bill Pump; second place, Pocomoke High School, team members Sidrah Ahmad, Richard Beyma, Ray Bitting, Jim Winfield and coach Carvel LaCurts; third place, Easton High School, team members Robert McDougal, Sean Lindsay, Derek Bliss, Shane Lynch and coach Maureen Harper; and fourth place, Stephen Decatur High School, team members Pete Tanner, Matt Fields, Clay Reister, Vincent Legnaioli and coach George Benton.

Others participating in the event included James M. Bennett High School, Mardela High School, Nandua High School, Perryville High School, Pocomoke High School and Wicomico High School.

Monetary awards totaling $1,600 were presented to the top four teams, and savings bonds were given to each of the top four team members. Recipients also received T-shirts, computer mouse pads and certificates of participation compliments of Conectiv.
