Drums of India Perform at SU Friday, October 14

Bickman GhoshSALISBURY, MD---The tradition of drumming India is one of the oldest and most evolved in the world.

The group Drums of India brings that ancient heritage to Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall Auditorium 7 p.m. Friday, October 14. Four master drummers are led by Indo-fusion music star Bickram Ghosh, who has played with musicians such as George Harrison and Ravi Shankar, and performed on over 100 albums including four Grammy Award nominees and one winner (Shankar’s Full Circle: Carnegie Hall 2000).

Supported with sitar, the ensemble has played throughout the Indian continent. SU is part of the group’s first North American tour.

Sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Office, Opus 3 Artists and the Ravi Shankar Foundation, admission is free and the public is invited.
