Cofer, Adoff Speak at 2005 Children's Literature Festival"

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Judith Ortiz Cofer and Jaime Adoff headline this year’s Children’s Literature Festival at Salisbury University 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, in Caruthers Hall Auditorium.

class=""MsoNormal"">Cofer, author of intermediate school books Call Me Maria, An Island Like You and The Meaning of Consuelo, speaks about her works and career as a children’s writer at 11 a.m. Her books have won numerous awards including the Pura Belpre Award and 2003 America’s Award. She also is featured in many textbooks and anthologies including The Norton Book of Women’s Lives and The Norton Introduction to Literature.

class=""MsoNormal"">Adoff, a songwriter and author whose works include The Song Shoots Out of My Mouth and Names Will Never Hurt Me, speaks at 12:30 p.m. In addition to writing, he also has released two CDs featuring his poetry and music.
