Bonsai Subject of September 26 Lecture   

SALISBURY, MD--Salisbury University’s Asian lecture series begins on Wednesday, September 26, with “The Art of Bonsai” lecture and demonstration by Les Lutz at 7 p.m. in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

A 1976 graduate of Longwood Gardens professional gardener training program, Lutz’s prior experience includes serving as manager of the New York Botanical Garden’s Conservatory.  

In his current position as the assistant director of SU’s physical plant for grounds/horticulture, he is in charge of the design, planting and managing of the entire SU landscape.

Under Lutz’s guidance the University grounds achieved arboretum status in 1992 from the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta.
