Ackerson Inaugurates Fall Brown Bag Series September 29

SALISBURY, MD---From deserts to beaches to rainforests, Senegal, Africa, boasts some of the Atlantic coast’s most scenic views. It also is a melting pot of African and European customs that gives the area a flavor all its own.

Dr. Wayne Ackerson of the History Department at Salisbury University takes listeners on a verbal and visual trip through the West African country to inaugurate SU’s Fall 2005 Brown Bag Lunch Discussion Series 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29, in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall.

Ackerson visited Senegal in 2002, experiencing first-hand the area’s customs, lifestyle and society. He blends those experiences into his presentation, bringing those cultures across the Atlantic and to the Eastern Shore.

Sodas and light refreshments will be served. The talk is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu. "
