Acclaimed Artist Sheryl Oring Comes to SU March 31

SALISBURY, MD---Got a message for the next president of the United States? Artist Sheryl Oring will listen.

More accurately, she’ll listen—then take dictation at her portable public office, which will be set up from noon-2 p.m. Monday, March 31, in the Guerrieri University Center of Salisbury University. Messages will be typed onto cards and sent to the next president.

Typing on a manual typewriter, Oring’s letters to President Bush by citizens from all walks of life have been compiled into a book, I Wish to Say…, copies of which she signs during a reception in the lobby of Fulton Hall from 2-3 p.m. Profiled by The New York Times and ABC News, Oring asks passers-by, “If I were president, what would you wish to say to me?”

Co-sponsored by the Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE) and Student Art Club, admission to her appearance at SU is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
