Academy For Leadership Sessions Focus on Non-Profits

SALISBURY, MD---The Center for Professional Development at Salisbury University hosts a six-week Academy For Leadership session on “Elements of Volunteer Management” on consecutive Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. March 11-April 16 in Room 220 of the Power Professional Building on Power Street. The academy is designed for directors and administrators who want to improve their leadership skills. Members and consultants of the Maryland Council of Directors of Volunteer Services (MCDVS) instruct the courses. Participants develop their personal skills and strategies as leaders with vision, knowledge and insight into the challenge of being exceptional non-profit leaders. Topics covered include volunteer program planning, public relations and marketing, motivation and recognition, screening and interviewing, evaluation and recruitment. The cost is $250 per person. Continuing education units are available. The Center for Professional Development, MCDVS, Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and ShoreCAN Volunteer Center sponsor the academy.
