'Washington Monthly' Again Ranks SU Among the Best Values in Higher Education

SALISBURY, MD---Washington Monthly magazine again has named Salisbury University as one of the best values in higher education.

The publication listed SU as the 66th most affordable university — and 81st best overall — of the 393 institutions included in this year’s “Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars: Northeast” rankings. This is SU’s 14th consecutive year being ranked by Washington Monthly.

In assessing institutions for the list, the magazine focused on four primary factors: access, affordability, outcomes (including graduation rates, early-career incomes, and the number of students going on to earn Ph.D.s), and promotion of public service.

“We are thrilled to once again be recognized by Washington Monthly as one of the nation’s top universities,” said SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “Its criteria align strongly with many of SU’s pillars, including community investment, responsible stewardship of public resources, and high-impact practices that educate students for a lifetime of leadership and service. Or, as Washington Monthly described it, our ‘contribution to the public good.’ Our strong, positive outcomes provide advantages not only for our students and alumni, but for the greater communities that they — and we — serve.”
