Heat Advisory Issued for Salisbury and Surrounding Areas July 5

SALISBURY, MD---The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Salisbury area noon-8 p.m. Sunday, July 5. Temperatures are expected to reach 96°F, with heat index values as high as 105°F.
Students, faculty, staff, and visitors are urged to take precautions:
- Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
- Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
- Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned environments.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
- Check on coworkers, classmates, family members, and vulnerable individuals.
- Never leave children or pets in unattended vehicles.
Anyone experiencing dizziness, nausea, confusion, or other signs of heat-related illness should seek medical attention immediately.
