Clark Named SU Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University has announced Dr. Jessica Clark as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Clark has served as acting vice president of academic affairs since July 2025. She was appointed assistant provost for faculty success in 2021, becoming associate provost in 2024. She joined the University in 2014 as an assistant professor of biological sciences, with a background and research interest in neuroendocrinology.
“With more than a decade of educational and leadership experience at SU, Dr. Clark has extensive institutional knowledge and a background in academic affairs that make her an ideal fit for this interim position,” said SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “Her appointment will provide continuity in the Office of the Provost and the Office of Academic Affairs as we focus on a strong and successful spring semester for our students, faculty, and staff.”
Clark has earned multiple honors for research and student support, including SU’s Research Mentor Award. Her students have received prestigious fellowships and scholarships, including the Fulbright Student Award, Fulbright Canada Research Fellowship, and Barry Goldwater Scholarship.
Clark earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Florida State University in 2009 and her B.S. in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004.
