De Socio Novel Recognized
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Mark de Socio, professor and chair of geography and geosciences in Salisbury University’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology, was recognized for his recently published novel The Compass Room.
The story earned top reviews from BookLife by Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews.
The sequel to the Kirkus-starred novel Friendship Games follows the aftermath of disaster, as more than 200,000 Americans are stranded in hostile territory, and Washington reels from a conflict it never imagined losing.
De Socio incorporates his two decades of teaching, academic research and interests of world geography to create more engaging fictional stories of real-world events and topics. His previous work also includes Alter Road, which depicts political and social unrest in Detroit, MI, following decades of economic decline and neglect.
