Salisbury and University Chorales Spring Concert May 4

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury and University Chorales perform the Eastern Shore premiere of Requiem for Peace by Canadian composer Larry Nickel during their annual spring concert 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Jackson Family Auditorium of Holloway Hall.

Directed by Dr. William Folger, SU director of choral studies, Requiem for Peace features guest mezzo-soprano Qianmo Liu and student soloists Sophia Merbaum, Angela Vaughan, Grace McCreary Bagley, Keily Wolff, Hunter Ness, Jacob Rudland. It was conceived in honor of suffering civilians who have been caught in the crossfire between warring nations. This work expresses a universal hope for peace through settings of poems from around the world in Arabic, Dutch, English, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin, Russian and Swedish.

Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors. Admission is free for students and SU faculty and staff. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office.
