SU Celebrates Elsie Walker Book Launch February 15

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates the launch of a new book by Dr. Elsie Walker, professor of English, Thursday, February 15, in the Herman van Apeldoorn Film Center, Fulton Hall Room 111.

A reception is 5-5:30 p.m., followed by a presentation and question-and-answer session.

Walker’s book, Life 24x a Second: Cinema, Selfhood and Society, celebrates how cinema affirms the lives of its viewers. Walker shares film clips and reflections from the book, including themes of enacting social justice, coping with mortality, holding onto joy and celebrating human connection. Reviewer Katherine Spring of Wilfrid Laurier University called this book a “defibrillator to the heart.”
