SU's Spring Writers on the Shore Series Returns

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University presents its spring Writers on the Shore series 7:30 p.m. select Wednesdays during the semester in the Worcester Room of the Commons.

Upcoming authors and events include:

  • February 21 – Mike Czyniejewski: Czyniejewski is the author of four collections of stories, most recently The Amnesiac in the Maze. He serves as editor-in-chief of Moon City Press and Moon City Review, as well as interviews editor of SmokeLong Quarterly.
  • March 6 – Andrew Leland: Leland’s first book is The Country of the Blind: A Memoir at the End of Sight. His writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, McSweeney’s Quarterly and The San Francisco Chronicle, among other outlets. From 2013-2019, he hosted and produced The Organist, an arts and culture podcast for KCRW. He also has produced pieces for Radiolab and 99 Percent Invisible.
  • April 3 – Shawn Jones: Jones is a 2023 Civitella Ranieri Fellow, and her poetry collection, Date of Birth, has won the 2022 Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize in Poetry. She is also the author of two poetry chapbooks, Womb Rain (2008) and A Hole to Breathe (2015). Her work has appeared in Tri-Quarterly, New Ohio Review, Cider Review, Passengers Journal, Rattle, Essence and elsewhere.
  • May 1 – The Scarab Launch: SU students read selections from the newest issue of The Scarab, the University’s student-run, liberal arts journal, hosted by this year’s editor-in-chief, Quentin Parker. Issues will be available for free.
