SALISBURY, MD---As part of its end-of-year celebration, Salisbury University’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts unveiled a portrait of Dr. Lawanda Dockins-Mills, Interim Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and recently retired Associate Dean of Students for her unwavering support of the Art Department and establishment of the Student Union Art Space located in SU’s Guerrieri Student Union. On a monthly basis an SU students work is selected to be on display and featured for a month-long professional exhibit.  In recognition of her commitment to the Art Department, Dockins-Mills portrait is on display on the second floor of the Student Union alongside the art gallery.  An extensive inventory of other student artwork can be enjoyed throughout the Student Union to include wall murals, graphic design elements, photography, ceramics and more. SU B.F.A. sophomore Makayla Bounds was commissioned by Jinchul Kim, professor of art, to paint the portrait. Pictured, from left: Kim, Bounds and Dockins-Mills.
