Out of the Darkness Campus Walk at SU April 2

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts its annual “Out of the Darkness” campus walk for suicide prevention awareness 11 a.m. Sunday, April 2, in The Square.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death among people ages 15-24. The walk supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP’s) education, research and survivor support programs. In addition to raising awareness and funds to fight suicide, the walks give those who attend a chance to connect with others and know they are not alone, whether they walk in memory or in support of a loved one or in honor of their own mental health journey.

All money raised goes toward AFSP and its mission to prevent suicide. Registration and resource tables are available from 11 a.m.-noon. Opening ceremony is at noon, followed by a 1.5-mile walk around campus.

Free registration is available for individuals or teams to raise funds and walk as a group. Admission is free and the public is invited.

To register, visit the event webpage. For more information email Cassidy Zeller
