Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra Concert at SU March 3

SALISBURY, MD---The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra returns to Salisbury University for “Stage and Screen Spectacular,” a concert accompanied by silent film shorts, 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

The performance includes a screening of 1925’s His Wooden Wedding, featuring Charley Chase, and 1922’s Cops, with Buster Keaton. The orchestra plays the films’ original scores live with the movies.

Peacherine is the leading professional ragtime orchestra in the U.S. Under the direction of virtuoso Andrew Greene, the ensemble recreates the syncopated stylings of a bygone era – ragtime, theatre and dance music – along with underscoring classic silent films using an immense archive of over 15,000 original orchestral scores.

Sponsored by the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, admission is free and the public is invited. Those coming to campus should park in Camden Avenue Parking Lot E, adjacent to Blackwell Hall. For more information call 410-548-3586.
