SU Commemorates National Coming Out Day October 11

By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s LGBTQ+ Alliance hosts a celebration of National Coming Out Day 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, on the Blackwell Hall Balcony.

Rain location is the Blackwell Hall Lobby.

First celebrated in the U.S. in 1988, National Coming Out Day celebrates LGBTQ+ people living their lives openly, supports those working to come out, and advocates for safety as LGBTQ+ individuals make those decisions and plans.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on what it means to be openly LGBTQ+ and how society’s understanding and expectations of coming out have changed over the years.

Admission is free and the public is invited. Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass.
