Paid Leave for COVID-19 Vaccination(s)

Members of the Campus Community,

With the recent announcement that the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center will serve as COVID-19 mass vaccination site, SU encourages our faculty and staff to get vaccinated to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of the campus community.

To pre-register for a vaccine, please sign up using https://onestop.md.gov/preregistration and make sure to note which vaccination site you are assigned. (Note: The Wicomico County Health Department is using the former Tuesday Morning store at the Centre at Salisbury. Please pay attention to the vaccine site specified on your registration confirmation.)

In support of this important public health initiative, SU will provide faculty and staff (full and part-time, PIN, adjuncts, CI and CIIs) up to a total of two hours of paid administrative leave to obtain a vaccine during their regular work schedule.

This leave cannot be combined with other paid leave, and faculty and staff must coordinate with their department and/or request time off from their supervisor in advance of the scheduled vaccination appointment. The COVID-19 Vaccination Card provided by the vaccination site will be used to validate the leave for time tracking purposes. The time used for this purpose should be recorded on the appropriate time reporting application as "administrative leave."

At this time, SU community members receiving the vaccine will not be exempt from required COVID-19 testing. The University Health Team will continue to work with local and state health officials to evaluate testing best practices and policies after vaccination.

Please stay safe and continue to adhere to all SU COVID-19 protocols.
