Meet ‘Sin of Omission’ Artist at SU’s Blackwell Hall

graphic design

SALISBURY, MD---Pierre Bowins, professor of graphic design at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, speaks about his exhibit “A Sin of Omission: The Immoral Unbalance in the History of Graphic Design” 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, October 22 in the Blackwell Hall Lobby.

The exhibit, on display through Friday, December 10, is the result of research conducted by Bowins to discover missing Black American diaspora in the field of graphic design. Through this scholarship, he hoped to bring to the forefront and create a dialog for those persons having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa who contributed to design with little to no recognition in the classroom and history books.

Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, admission is free and the public is invited. To register visit SU’s online ticketing page.

All attendees at Salisbury University indoor events are required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Attendees may be asked to leave an event for non-compliance.

All attendees must complete an online COVID-19 screening on the day of their visit, prior to coming to the SU campus.

Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass online.
