SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Center for Extended and Lifelong Learning (CELL) is offering free sessions of its Youth Innovation Academy 3 p.m. Fridays, April 17 and 24, through Zoom.

Hosted by New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts adjunct faculty member Ilyana Kadushin, the sessions are aimed at bridging the age gap by teaching children how to interview someone two generations older than themselves by phone or video chat. Students learn and practice listening with intention and asking powerful questions.

In the first part, on April 17, students engage in a group chat and exercises that set them up to plan and lead their own interviews with family or community members older than their parents.

In the second part, on April 24, they share the outcomes of these interviews using material from the interview they conducted.

Kadushin is a singer, voiceover actor, educator and activist. She teaches upper-level voice and public speaking at NYU. She also is an award-winning audio book narrator.

The public is invited. Advance RSVP is required online.
