three womens at dig siteSALISBURY, MD---The discovery of fossilized remains of the Mansourasaurus in the Egypt’s Sahara Desert has helped fill in gaps in the mysterious evolutions of dinosaurs in Africa.

Mansoura University’s Dr. Hesham Sallam discusses the discovery in his presentation “Mansourasaurus: A Story from the Land of the Pharaohs and Dinosaurs” 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, in the Great Hall of Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall.

Sallam led the team from Mansoura’s Vertebrate Paleontology initiative, discovering the school-bus-length, long-necked plant eater with bony plates embedded in its skin.

Sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Office, World Artists Experiences, Inc. and the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, admission is free and the public is invited.
