Information Literacy Partner of the Month

November/December 2019

Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Liston of the Department of Art, who is the SU Libraries’ Information Literacy Partner of the Month for November-December.  This is what Caroline Eckardt, Research/Instructional Librarian and liaison to the Department of Art, wrote in nominating her:

Dr. Liston has consistently sought me out for assistance with her art history courses each semester that I have been here at Salisbury. Together, we have worked diligently to develop sessions and assignments that have boosted the information literacy skills of students enrolled in her art history courses, focusing specifically on topic development and source evaluation. This past summer, Dr. Liston was awarded one of the SU Libraries Course enhancement grants for the Introduction to Art History online course, working with me to develop training modules to reach her online students. Throughout our time working together, Dr. Liston has continually impressed me with her dedication to her students and their education.
Caroline Eckardt Research/Instructional Librarian

It is for this willingness to creatively work with librarians to help students engage with information sources that we have chosen Dr. Liston as the SU Libraries’ Information Literacy Partner of the Month for November-December.  And I’d like to point out that this is the second consecutive award earned by members of the Department of Art, as Dr. Jennifer Kruglinski was our September-October winner.

In addition to recognizing Dr. Liston on the SU Libraries’ website and social media, we also will purchase a book in a field of her choice to be added to the Libraries’ collection in her honor.
