Assistant Professor of Nursing with a DNP in Executive Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Her areas of expertise include nursing, leadership, performance improvement, informatics, governance, and interdisciplinary care. She is passionate about enhancing healthcare systems through collaborative and data-driven approaches.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe in fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to become confident, competent, and compassionate nursing professionals. My teaching emphasizes critical thinking, leadership development, and evidence-based practice, preparing students to navigate complex healthcare systems. I integrate real-world experiences and interdisciplinary perspectives to deepen understanding and engagement. In 1922, six nurses founded Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, today known as Sigma, at the Indiana University Training School for Nurses, which is now the Indiana University School of Nursing, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. The founders chose the name from the Greek words storgé, thárros, and timé, meaning love, courage, and honor.

American Association of Critical Care Nurses

The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) is the largest specialty nursing organization dedicated to advancing critical care nursing practice and supporting nurses in providing optimal care for critically ill patients.
