ECED 356 PLAY & CREATE EARLY CHLDHD ED (Fall 2019)
Emphasizes the value of play and creativity in young children ages birth through 8. Provides a means of experiencing how and why play is essential to children’s social, cognitive, physical and emotional development. Explores the development of children’s creativity and its relationship to play. Addresses the importance of high-quality and meaningful play and creative experience that are integral to developmentally appropriate practice in the early childhood classroom. Includes clinical experiences. Prerequisites: Admission to Professional Teacher Education Program. Early Childhood Major Prerequisites: ELED 305/ELED 302, ELED 317, 397, ECED 352. Double Major Prerequisites: ELED 302, 320, 340, 350, 398. Three hours per week with enhancement.
