Bio

Cinzia Lombardo is a lecturer in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution and serves as the Operations Director for the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution at Salisbury University. Her work focuses on organizational effectiveness, conflict management, systems thinking, and the intersection of strategy, operations, technology, and people in complex organizations. Before entering higher education, she held executive leadership positions in the human resources technology sector, where she led organizational transformation, talent strategy, and global technology initiatives for rapidly growing organizations. In addition to her roles within the university, Cinzia is a mediator, facilitator, and organizational advisor who partners with leaders to strengthen organizational capacity, navigate complex change, and build healthier, more effective workplaces.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that learning is a collaborative process in which both students and instructors contribute to one another's growth. I strive to create an engaging, discussion-based classroom that connects theory to real-world challenges while fostering critical thinking, professional communication, and self-awareness. Beyond course content, I encourage students to take ownership of their learning by advocating for themselves, embracing mistakes as opportunities for growth, and developing the confidence and interpersonal skills they will carry into their professional lives.

Presentations
Service Activities and Community Relations

1. As Operations Director for the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution, I contributed to the Center's strategic and operational development by spearheading team efforts to create a new business plan, support mediation initiatives, and initiate efforts to establish a campus-wide dispute system design process. I also participated in ongoing collaboration with Fulton leadership to strengthen partnerships and advance the Center's strategic priorities.
2. I supported university-wide initiatives through participation in Salisbury University's AI Task Force, where I contributed to meetings and reviewed institutional planning documents related to the University's approach to artificial intelligence. Additionally, I served as a member of the Faculty Leadership Committee and co-presented with my peers at the International Leadership Association's annual conference. Finally, I volunteered as a research monitor for the HONR 111 Student Research Conference and as a Graduation Marshal for the undergraduate commencement ceremony.
3. As a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, I assisted with the selection of new inductees and co-facilitated the University's two most recent induction ceremonies. Through this service, I supported the recognition and celebration of student leadership, scholarship, and service across the campus community.
External Collaboration Highlights

1. As part of the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution, I co-facilitated a community dialogue, bringing together community stakeholders to support constructive communication and collaborative problem solving. This engagement reflected the University's commitment to community partnership and the practical application of conflict resolution principles.
2. As a member of Salisbury University's Faculty Leadership Community, I collaborated with colleagues across the University to draft, refine, and submit the institution's application for the Carnegie Leadership for Public Purpose Classification. I also co-presented with Faculty Leadership Community colleagues at the International Leadership Association's annual conference, sharing Salisbury University's leadership development initiatives with an international audience of leadership scholars and practitioners.
