Requirements for Admission – Public Health Program
To help you set your success in motion at SU, we want to share the process to prepare for, apply to and be accepted into SU’s Pre-Professional Program in Public Health.
To be accepted into the professional program in public health you need to complete the following courses with grades of C or better:
- BIOL 205 – Fundamentals of Human Anatomy and Physiology
- HLTH110 - Foundations of Public Health Education
- HLTH 225 - Health Behavior
- MATH 155 - Modern Statistics with Computer Analysis
- PSYC 101 - General Psychology
Once you have completed these courses with a C or better and have an overall GPA of at least 2.0, you will receive an invitation to apply to the professional program. Enrollment in the program does not have a cap; all students who meet the pre-professional requirements and complete the application are admitted into the professional program. Students are accepted into the professional program every semester. A GPA of 2.0 is required to be maintained throughout the professional program. A GPA of 2.5 is required to complete the required internship semester.
