Self-Study Objectives:
The Middle States Self-Study provides an opportunity for the University community to conduct a comprehensive review of the last ten years of institutional history, but also to look ahead to the next decade. Through a multiyear, data-driven and consensus-based study, Salisbury University will:
- Involve the University community in a transparent assessment of Salisbury’s mission, educational programs, resource allocation, and strategic planning;
- Examine how the increase in alternative course delivery (online, hybrid, satellite sites) since the last self-study has affected the University’s educational mission and resource allocation;
- Determine whether the strategies to improve academic engagement and retention at the University have been successful;
- Explore the impact of new facilities and building renovations since the previous self-study and develop a plan to utilize the new Academic Commons to further improve student learning and engagement;
- Examine the effectiveness of and impact of the increase in the number and type of graduate programs that university offers;
- Compose a comprehensive document with a common vision that can be used for future planning.
