Our Vision & Mission
Our Vision
The Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture will be an institutional leader in advancing the preservation and understanding of Delmarva’s historical and cultural heritage while serving as a primary resource for students, historical organizations, and scholars.
Mission
The mission of the Nabb Research Center is to cultivate and sustain the advancement of scholarly research through collecting, preserving, disseminating and providing access to records and artifacts which illustrate the rich historical and cultural heritage of the greater Chesapeake (Delmarva) region.
Our top priority is to serve Salisbury University students and faculty. As the historical research laboratory for the Department of History, our responsibility is to anticipate, seek and respond to the expectations of Salisbury University students and faculty.
As stewards of Lower Delmarva’s documentary heritage, we strive to balance the daily needs of Salisbury University students and faculty and those of the greater community with the need to ensure the preservation of the region’s history.
We strive to preserve the public’s confidence through personal integrity and ethical performance. As a staff dedicated to serving students, patrons and colleagues with the highest degree of professional competence, we strive to achieve excellence and encourage efficiency and effectiveness by pursuing new and innovative ways to serve our constituents.
We will collaborate with other Salisbury University departments and seek to develop public-private relationships with regional and national historical organizations to accomplish goals and inspire excellence.
