Information Literacy Partner of the Month
April/May 2023
Congratulations to Dr. Sherry Maykrantz, Assistant Professor of Public Health, who is the SU Libraries’ Information Literacy Partner of the Month for April-May!
In nominating Dr. Maykrantz, Emily Zerrenner, Research and Instructional Services Librarian and liaison to Public Health, wrote:
Sherry and I have been working closely together this semester for her HLTH 312 and HLTH 361 classes, beginning with a library instruction session focused on their respective projects. We have discussed these research projects at length and how each part they turn in builds on the foundation and research of the next one. Each class has extra working days in the library to ask me, Sherry, or the both of us any questions they may have. Particularly in HLTH 361, students will be completing a group research poster on theory-based intervention in Public Health. It has been a pleasure working with Sherry, and I'm looking forward to many more semesters!
It is for this willingness to creatively work with librarians to help students engage with information sources that we have chosen Dr. Maykrantz as our IL Partner of the Month for April-May. And you, too, could be the SU Libraries’ IL Partner of the Month some time—if you partner with us!
In addition to recognizing Dr. Maykrantz on the SU Libraries’ website and social media, we also will purchase a book in a field of her choice to be added to the Libraries’ collection in her honor.
