Pi Lambda Sigma Chapter of Beta Phi Mu
Pi Lambda Sigma is the United State's oldest library honor society founded 1903 at Syracuse University. In 1959 Pi Lambda Sigma affiliated with the international library honor society, Beta Phi Mu. The Pi Lambda Sigma chapter's motto are the greek words Paideia, Logos, and Sunophelimoi referring to a librarian's commitment to culture, the expression of thought, and service.
American Library Association

Maryland Library Association
The Maryland Library Association is a state member of the American Library Association. Founded in 1923 to promote library services in Maryland, the MLA provides professional development opportunities and networking opportunities to Marylanders in the library industry.
