Helen Myers

Bio

Helen Myers, Associate Professor, is the Director of Dance at Salisbury University. She previously taught at the State University of New York at Fredonia, Ohio State University, Kent State University, SUNY Geneseo, New Mexico State University, and Eastern New Mexico University where she was given an award for Teaching Excellence from the Secretary of State of NM. She received the MFA in Dance from Ohio State University. Her research areas include Choreography, Kinesiology and Dance Expressionism.

Helen's choreographic credits in New York City include: the DancenowNYC Festival at the Joyce Soho, the NYC Choreographers’ Showcase at Symphony Space, the WAXworks Dance Showcase in Brooklyn, the Chashama OASIS Festival, and the Choreographers' Showcase at Riverside Theatre Church. Other commissions include: Momentum Dance Company of Guatemala City, Modern America Dance Company of St. Louis, The International Fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists of Toronto, Universidad Autonoma of Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, The American Southwest Theatre Company (under the direction of Tony-award winning playwright Mark Medoff), The Doña Ana Lyric Opera Company, and the Crimson Coast Dance Society of Canada, among others.
