Its mission is to empower nurse leaders everywhere to enhance health care worldwide. Sigma provides resources for professional growth, research support, and global networking, uniting nurses who are dedicated to advancing evidence-based practice, ethical leadership, and innovative approaches to improving patient care. Members are committed to advancing evidence-based practice, fostering ethical leadership, and transforming health care through knowledge, compassion, and innovation.
I initially joined Sigma Theta Tau during my undergraduate degree in 2000 and renewed my membership in 2025.
Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians
MAAPC is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Advanced Practice Clinicians in Maryland, including Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Physician Assistants. The organization advances its roles through education, collaboration, and legislative advocacy, hosting conferences, offering continuing education, and providing a preceptor clearinghouse. MAAPC partners with state and national health organizations to improve care and support clinicians across the state.
