By exposing international students to American social studies, students have opportunities to become familiarized with daily English in all four areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While learning the contents, students are gaining more exposure to the authentic academic English and hands-on experience. Course meets three hours per week and is offered in spring and fall. Prerequisite: Successful completion of all Level I courses.
ELI 77 LANGUAGE LAB (Fall 2019)
Designed for international students whose native language is not English to improve their language skills by providing a high-tech learning environment and a knowledgeable tutoring staff to guide them with any aspect of language learning, from speaking, listening and pronunciation to reading, writing, grammar and punctuation. Meets three hours a week and is offered in spring and fall. Prerequisite: Completion of all Level I courses or proof of basic language proficiency demonstrated by the placement test results (higher than 60%).
