The first of a two-semester (fall/spring) sequence of supervised experience in the delivery of social services where students are required to participate in an agency-based field practicum for two days a week under the supervision of an agency-based field instructor with an M.S.W. Successful completion of the two-course sequence requires a student to fulfill a minimum of 440 hours of field instruction within the same social welfare agency accumulated across the fall and spring semesters. Prerequisites or Corequisites: SOWK 620, admission to graduate social work program. Corequisites: SOWK 616. Two working days per week. A seminar with small group discussions on field experiences with related written assignments and activities conducted concurrently.
