SEPTEMBER 25. Intentional Listening: A Critical Success Factor for Leaders with Annette Johnson

Listening is a key factor of your ability to effectively communicate. It affects how well you lead, manage, influence, persuade, build and maintain relationships, make decisions and resolve conflicts. The quality of your professional and personal life depends upon your ability to effectively listen.
However, listening does not come naturally. It requires your commitment, focus, determination and practice. Becoming an intentional listener can enhance your leadership brand as someone that people enjoy speaking to and seek out when they want or need to be heard.

Annette Johnson joined Salisbury University as the new Diversity & Inclusion Specialist in April of 2019. Annette’s mission is to work collaboratively with the University as well as the local (Lower Eastern Shore, Salisbury, Wicomico) community to create an overarching diversity framework focused on connecting diversity and inclusion throughout SU.
Prior to joining SU, Annette worked in a Fortune 100 financial services firm as a corporate leader. Her career as a global professional development facilitator resulted in her designing and facilitating programs for over 25,000 employees across the U.S., Canada, Asia, and Europe. Annette launched her leadership coaching career with the release of her book, Forgive & Love Yourself: A Path to Letting Go and Living with Inner Peace. She continued to expand her career as executive producer and host of FLY Conversations, an Internet radio show, for Life Coach Radio Networks. Annette keynotes women’s conferences and facilitates seminars. She is committed to the success of women. Her passion is working with women’s organizations, sharing her 30 years of leadership experience to assist women with maximizing their leadership potential.
NOVEMBER 7. Time Management: Converting Overwhelm into Opportunity with Shelley Hastings
Do you feel like your schedule manages you, instead of the other way around? Are there too many things to get done, both personally and professionally, that you feel so overwhelmed you think you can’t do any of them well? The goal of this interactive workshop is to identify and recognize where schedule overwhelm occurs and learn strategies to become empowered in converting time from overwhelm into opportunity.
