1. Upload your document (file, URL, or pasted text) using the online form
2. Select the format you want to convert to
3. SensusAccess processes the content you submit
4. Your file is converted into the selected output format
5. The converted file is delivered by email as an attachment or download link

SensusAccess can be used for a wide range of conversion needs, including:

Accessibility conversions
Convert image and PDF files into more accessible formats such as tagged PDFs, Word documents, HTML, and more.

Braille services
Convert documents to and from contracted and uncontracted Braille. Files can be formatted, paginated, and delivered as ready-to-emboss files in multiple digital Braille formats.

Audio services
Convert documents into MP3 audio or DAISY books (including support for spoken math). MP3 files are created using high-quality, customizable computer-generated text-to-speech voices.

E-book services
Convert documents into EPUB, EPUB3, EPUB3 with media overlays, and Mobipocket (Amazon Kindle) e-book formats. EPUB files may also be converted into Mobipocket and vice versa. For users with low vision, e-book text can be optimized for better scaling and readability in mainstream e-reader platforms.

SensusAccess should only be used to convert documents that align with Salisbury University’s data protection expectations and guidelines.
Important: Do not upload documents containing sensitive or restricted information, including FERPA-protected student records.
All copyright provisions apply to the use of SensusAccess. Individuals may only upload files for conversion if such use is permitted under copyright law (for example, you own the copyright, have permission from the owner, or are using material under fair use or applicable disability-related provisions). The resulting file typically carries the same copyright restrictions as the original.

The quality of the conversion depends on the quality of the original document.

For example, converting a poorly scanned image into text may result in recognition errors. However, a well-structured Microsoft Word document using heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) will convert into a more usable format with better navigation. Creating accessible source documents, especially in Microsoft Word, supports higher-quality conversions across multiple formats.
